here we are. west tennessee. memphis. germantown to be exact. and it's really nice. we've had a great time. we've seen a lot. we drove around in the pouring rain all day (all day...really...all day) looking for apartments and looking at apartments. it's been fun, we found some we really like. it hasn't stopped raining since we got here, raining hard... i am exhausted. crystal is exhausted. finley is exhausted and really sick (fever, cough, snot) bless her heart. tomorrow will be a really really really long day. the good news is that we got down here in 7 hours. which means we should be home tomorrow no later than 2:30 or so. wow...

nose

so i've got a date for surgery. may 12. i am having a nose job. lipo on my nose actually (the inside of it, i don't think i have a fat nose), and having my septum (the bone between your two nostrils) removed and reset, and my tonsils removed. the whole thing should take about an hour. the recovery could be pretty rough. milkshakes?!? but maybe i'll sleep better, and won't snore, and won't be so sleepy all the time, and actually be able to breathe and not always have a stopped up or runny nose and some other great things. who knows. either way, i'm done with this silly Organic Chemistry class in a month, then it's my last summer of freedom before pharmacy school! (oh and i got an interview with Mercer COPh in Atlanta. I doubt if I'll go, since I have already held my place in Memphis, it's just more vindication. sweet) Off to Memphis for the weekend, hope we don't get lost!

chasin' chickens

chasin' chickens, originally uploaded by andyrobe.

so... crystal actually was the one that took this shot, i just absolutely love it and had to put it up on here. This was Easter afternoon (after the easter egg hunt). Finley decided it would be super fun to chase the chicken up the road. It is just too cute!

wink (refuge from the rain)

wink (refuge from the rain), originally uploaded by andyrobe.

it poured the rain today. finley and i had to run a few errands. we found a secret place with lots of colors and abandoned ideas. my favorite part of this photo (besides all that beautiful blue, and the really cool reflection on the wet pavement) is the way the rain is falling across the shot, and the little splashes the raindrops make against the pavement. as with most of my shots, this one was taken from the car, window rolled down, radio up, finley asleep in the backseat. It might be cool someday to show her these shots and tell her that she was right there with me for every one of them. she may just think i am a big dork. but that's fine... i know i am. crystal's started her new placement at North Side Elem. she's learning to inspire little'ns, and that takes passion and skill. love her! i'm trying to keep up with school, wishing it was spring, wishing i was done with this dumb class, wishing Finley would stop growing up so fast. gotta run...

nose job

I met with my allergy doctor today, she's sending me to an ear nose throat specialist to see about getting my deviated septum (that middle thing inside your nose) fixed and my tonsils removed. apparently i am at risk for (and may already have some) sleep apnea. so that should be interesting.

anyway. i love this photo of Finn. she is too stinkin cute

crazy (reflections)

crazy week. here's why. lab exam in organic II lab tomorrow (monday). big lecture exam in organic chemisty II on tuesday, then a dr. appointment with my allergy lady, then to work, then dinner. wednesday might involve P.forge. thursday is class then maybe a field trip with EHS to see Seuss then work, then small group. then early friday morning it's off to indiana for the weekend. then back in time to start over next week. i'm dreading this test though. if i can just make it through monday and tuesday morning life will be better. here's the view from my seat in O'chem.

you know what my favorite part about this photo is... besides all that beautiful minimalistic blue sky that dominates the scene, and the bright warming morning sun on the east wall of the school, and that interesting tree poking up behind the building... my favorite part is the reflection of the fluorescent lighting in the room that shows up in the sky like rectangular clouds or anything else you'd like to imagine them as. that's what i love about this one.
hope your week's great.

Happy early St. Patrick's Day. Happy early spring (we can only hope...)
